Czech Chairmanship
In 2017, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic was elected to chair the CECC in the period 2017ā2020. (By Decision IV adopted by the Circle of Presidents of the CECC, convened in Batumi on the occasion of the XVIIth Congress of the CECC on 29 and 30 June 2017).
On 13 June 2018, a preparatory meeting of the Circle of Presidents of the CECC was held in Prague. This decision-making body of the CECC approved then, among other things, the theme of the XVIIIth Congress.
The second meeting of the Circle of Presidents under the Czech chairmanship was held on 24 February 2021. The participants discussed many topical issues, as well as decided and voted on various particular questions concerning the CECC and its workings.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date of the XVIIIth Congres of the CECC had to be rescheduled. By decision of the Circle of Presidents, the Czech Presidency was prolonged until 2021.
